Landscape Restoration

One of the hardest tasks for a landscape architect can be to restore a landscape that has become overgrown or simply too old. Saving the valued while replacing that which has outlived its purpose requires a thoughtful eye and delicate work. Poor removal of old plants can damage roots of desirable heirlooms and a bad pruning job damages both the plants and the value of the landscape.

Tom's understanding of existing landscapes gives him the eye to know what stays, what goes, and what should be brought in to restore the visual harmony of the site.

Landscape Restoration requires balancing saving and caring for venerable specimens while carefully removing and replacing those plants which have reached the end of their use in the garden as designed.
